How Shared Ownership Works

Simulation

Model Your Own Share

Pick a yacht, a share size and the way you like to sail. The numbers update as you choose, and you can send the result to our team in one click.

All simulators explained in one overview:

Balanced: half the usable year charters, half is yours, and the charter income keeps the monthly low. How the weeks are counted · Balanced or Signature?

How this works: you choose three things on the left: the yacht, how much of her is yours, and how you like to book. Every figure on the right updates as you click. Nothing is saved, nothing is binding.

What the monthly covers

Charter activity pays for the leasing itself, interest and amortization: roughly half of the economic cost of the yacht is carried by charter. Your monthly payment covers everything else around her, and is credited back to your owner account as points:

Crew
Insurance
Berthing
Yacht Club membership
Transfers between seasons
Maintenance
Refit reserve
Cashflow reserve
Technical management
Administration

Those points spend on your own boat, other Morii boats, the residences, expeditions and private aviation, always below the open market rate, occasional last-minute or special discounts aside.

Modeled figures, excluding taxes, APA and trip-specific onboard expenses. Actual owner weeks depend on season, booking mode and region. Savings are not guaranteed; the strongest economics go to flexible use. Full terms per yacht offer.

How this works: your share gives you one yearly budget, held as points. One point is one euro. Spend it below, season by season, with the + and − buttons. Firm dates cost more points; flexible days cost fewer. The counter keeps score as you go.

How the prices are set

Your monthly payments build one yearly budget, held as points. One point is one euro, and that is also what buying more costs. Take each season in turn: three ways to book it, priced side by side, so you can see what holding a date firmly is worth. A week nobody else could have sold is worth far less to the yacht than the first week of August, and the prices say so. Long term is held by the week, because a single day blocked months ahead sits in the middle of a week nobody can then sell.

Modeled figures. Which dates are actually free depends on the charter calendar, and the most flexible categories are the ones that move. Extra points cost one euro each. If you cannot use the full time on your own boat, your points also spend on other Morii boats in different regions, on Morii residences, or on a Morii expedition. Unspent credits carry forward up to three months into the next year.

How this works: the same weeks, owned next to chartered. Pick how you like to sail and the panel shows what those weeks would cost on the open charter market, next to what they cost you as an owner.

What to count

No tips, and less VAT A charter guest budgets about 15% of the list price as a gratuity, and pays VAT on the whole charter. Owners tip nothing, and the taxable value of owner use is usually about half. Depreciation on the share We count the Liquidity Shield floor, which is the worst case on purpose. What actually happens is usually better. What the money could have earned Interest you might have had on the capital, had it been somewhere else.

Modeled figures. The market rate is the published high-season rate for a comparable charter. Tips and VAT are averages and vary by country, structure and itinerary; the tax treatment of owner use is confirmed per yacht. Full terms per yacht offer.

How this works: Morii targets an exit of the yacht around year seven, plus or minus a year as market conditions allow. Set how old she is when you buy in and how long you stay; the panel shows what your minimum share returns under the Liquidity Shield, in your numbers. Actual performance can be higher.

What the Liquidity Shield is

The Liquidity Shield is a floor under the value of your share and a guarantee that you can get out. It is not a forecast. In practice a share usually fetches more on the second-hand market, and Morii helps that sale happen.

Why it usually turns out better

New yachts have been going up in price by two to three per cent a year, and a used share is priced against a new boat benchmark.
An eight-year-old yacht tends to sit at 55 to 70 per cent of her new price rather than the 60 the straight-line sum gives.
No additional transaction fee at the end: only the actual third party cost of winding up the company at the end of her lifespan.
The leasing contract is set so that the repayment outpaces the depreciation, which builds a reserve over the years that is released upon winding up.

So the figures beside this are the bad case, on purpose. That is what a floor is for.

Modeled figures under the Liquidity Shield™︎ terms. Share prices fall in steps of 1.25% per quarter once a yacht has been used, and 5% a year thereafter. The transaction fee depends on the size of the share. An early payback surcharge follows the age of the boat when you sell: 7.5% in her first year, 5% in her second, 2.5% in her third, nothing after.
